On March 11 educators from OSU Faculty of Law Olga Zhurkina, Elena Erokhina, Elena Maksimenko and Elena Filippova participated in the Zoom-conference «Inteligencia Artificial aplicada al proceso penal» held by the Law School of Universidad Austral (Argentina).

The conference speakers were Fernando Miró-Llinares, Professor of Criminal Law and Criminology at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, Pere Simón Castellano, Professor of the Faculty of Law at the University of La Rioja, Pablo Palazzi, partner of «Allende & Brea», a leading law firm Buenos Aires.

The conference discussed current digitalization of justice, as well as the use of artificial intelligence technology in criminal proceedings. Juan Gustavo Corvalan, one of the developers of «Prometea», the first artificial intelligence system in Argentina, used in the Prosecutor’s Office of Buenos Aires, briefed the audience about the main trends in the digitalization of justice and the prospects for using artificial intelligence systems in courts.
